Our school is one of the most ethnically diverse schools in Queens. Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Arabic. Our students come from a variety of different economic and cultural backgrounds with over 60% of our students receiving free lunch.
The students at John Adams are funny, intelligent, and caring.
They are extremely deserving. All of our students are passionate about something and eager to share their various passions with others.
My Project
Our students all come from general education to integrated classroom settings to special education self-contained classes, and each of them deserves to experience various cultures, apply classroom curriculum to the real world, develop a global perspective, and to try new things (get out of their comfort zones). Life is about the moments you take and memories you make!
The students who will be going on this trip are some of the most hardworking, responsible, and truly deserving group of young people myself and other teachers have met.
When students received their invitations for this possible trip to Europe, they were overcome with joy and some even got emotional. For most of these young adults, this trip to Europe is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
For each donation milestone, the students will make a video sent to the donors thanking them personally.
At the end of our trip, the students want to make a video thanking each and every donor on how their generosity helped make this a trip of a lifetime for them! It will feature memories from the trip, best moments, and how this trip made a difference in their life, as well as a big thank you from the staff!
Any donation is tremendously appreciated! This would mean the world to our low-income students who would probably never get this opportunity- thank you from the bottom of our hearts :)
