Life Cycles Come To Life

My students need live tadpoles, caterpillars, and ants to observe life cycles and insects in the classroom.

There is a difference between reading about something in a book and experiencing it first hand. Providing the added bonus of a hands on experience allows students to explore the world around them in meaningful ways. I am a second grade teacher at a very new charter school in California where budget cuts make it difficult to provide anything extra.

My students absolutely love reading the book "From Tadpole to Frog." My dream is to make that book become a reality for my students by having them observe tadpoles, ants, and caterpillars develop before their very inspiring eyes.

I have requested three demo kits that include live specimens and habitats for caterpillars, tadpoles, and ants. Each kit contains all the materials and supplies (food, housing, and care instructions) needed to grow and sustain life in our classroom. The kits allow students to watch and observe as the critters progress through the different stages of life. We want to transform our classroom into a biological laboratory. We will then open our laboratory to create a miniature discovery museum where students will provide tours to other classrooms.

Your generous donation will provide our students with more than just a read-aloud. We will be able to experience first hand the mini-miracles that exist in nature. I guarantee you will be creating an experience that our students will never forget!
