Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students inspire me with their energetic interest in possibilities. I see their endless potential and thus believe they are a hope and a wish for a bright future. It is up to me and my colleagues to find ways to maintain their interests, spark their imaginations and harness this potential to help mold the future generations of this world.
At this age, so much is changing; their lives, their minds, their education.
And, even though this change is daunting and seemingly endless, many of them greet each day, ready to accept the challenge that lies before them; another mark of their potential.
What is most inspiring about these students is their circumstance. I teach in a Title I school with a wide variety of languages, ethnicity and home-life situations. Yet, my students keep going. They keep coming to school, trying their best and giving it their all in the hopes that one day, despite whatever odds may be against them, they will tap into that potential, use what we have taught them and become the future generation all educators aspire to cultivate.
My Project
My classroom already has a series of Chromebooks to use in the classroom. The trouble is, when these chromebooks were purchased, they did not come equipped with education licenses that would help them to run faster and be connected to our school's network.
Having education licenses for our chromebooks would increase the utility of our devices and make them better for our classroom use.
Students will be able to cruise the internet and edit their Google documents with speed and issues that arise with this technology can be managed by our tech team. Overall, having licenses for these computers will allow us to integrate them into our school's system so that they may be used more efficiently and frequently in the future.
