Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are amazing and deserve the best we can give them! Being a school counselor I am able to offer support to all of our students (over 600) who may need extra supports. I am hoping to gain more supplies to help students and teachers in classrooms throughout our school.
Our students come to school ready to learn and amaze us in all that they accomplish.
Our school is not located in the best part of town and most of our students come from homes that struggle financially. They, many times, come to school without the supplies that they need. Some students struggle with changes at home and need the support of our school to help them succeed! We need to do all that we can to help them reach their full potential!
My Project
Many (most) of our families experiencing homelessness are also struggling with treating lice and/or bed bugs. These treatment kits are very expensive and they just can't afford them while they are homeless. We are able to treat as much as we can at school but we need these kits and supplies to help our support staff treat these children and their families. Most of our families are forced to live in transitional housing by doubling up with other families or on the streets. Please help these children and their families during these tough times, they can not afford the extra costs for these treatments.
