Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from diverse backgrounds and the majority of them do not have access to simple things that many of us take for granted, like books. A fundamental part of teaching them to gain a love for Spanish involves surrounding them with materials in the target language that are at their level.

Covid has been difficult on everyone, and definitely on these teens.

During the past 2+ years, so many of my students have had to become parents to their younger siblings while their parents work. This is not only unfair to them but has also hindered their own education.

Having these books in my classroom library will allow my students to just be kids, reading and discovering a passion for the language that has captivated me for years. Thank you so much for reading!
