Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students will enter kindergarten this year and many did not go to pre-school or have any type of educational experience.
Over ninety-seven percent of students at my school are categorized as socioeconomically disadvantaged.
This means most students experience significant challenges outside of school.
Despite the challenges they face, my students have the desire and capability to learn. I look forward to continuing to create meaningful teaching experiences that will be the basis for which they learn for the rest of their lives.
My Project
Thank you for considering my project!
We are in need of a few more books for our library.
We are looking for fun children's books like Aquadog, the Memoirs books, and the Bat Books. Additionally, we need a few wordless picture books for students at the beginning of the year to help make meaning from pictures before they can read like Flashlight, Another, and Wave. I would also like to add the multicultural book Sulwe to our library. Thank you for providing my students with multiple genres of classroom library books.
