Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our neighborhood school specializes in the creative and performing arts. The students that attend this school are gifted, sweet, and funny. They like to dance, sing, paint, draw, design, create, and read.
The amazing students at our school deserve the highest quality resources in order to be successful.
They are low income students and most exist within a book desert in their personal lives. The library needs supplies to keep it in full operation order. It's up to us to help them be successful and become lifelong lovers of reading!
My Project
Our library resources need protection in order to be in the best condition and ready for use. I am asking for a counter, duct tape and markers. The students and staff use these resources daily to ensure the books and library are protected and ready for use by other students. Students will learn to care for books using Sharpies. They will decorate the library and books using painter's Scotch tape, which doesn't harm the books.
Students library workers will use the materials requested to increase the longevity of library materials and count the money they receive from lost or damaged books.
These requested materials will help library operations run smoothly and teach the students responsibility.
