My Students

There’s nothing better than chilling out & relaxing with a good book! In fact, studies have shown that students who have a comfortable and inviting reading area are more likely to be more engaged in their reading. That is why I’m asking for some comfortable seating for our classroom library. A makeover is just what we need to up engagement & interest. Currently our library is made up of a few garage sale pillows, a borrowed rug, and milk crate seats. A library makeover would make the class library a space that would excite & invite! Any help would be much appreciated!

My Project

My students will enjoy the relaxing, inviting atmosphere that a renovated classroom library will provide. The enjoyment that they get from their updated environment will translate into increased interest in our library. That interest will equate to higher reading comprehension, increased vocabulary development, and increased fluency. Students will gain a new appreciation and interest for the books in our classroom. The comfortable library will show them that reading is a hobby that is not just educational but also one that is relaxing and entertaining. I am excited for my students to discover the love of reading in a relaxing environment!
