My students need a carpet, pillows, book carts and shelves in order to locate leveled reading materials in a comfortable space during independent reading time.
My students are encouraged to do their best every day and work to their full potential. Students are reminded that they hold the keys to their success and failure is not an option.
My students are seventh graders enrolled in a self-contained classroom for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities.
My school is situated in an urban setting in a city plagued with various environmental issues. My students have the potential to thrive if able to combat these issues.
My Project
My students need a carpet, pillows, book carts and shelves in order to locate leveled reading materials in a comfortable space during independent reading time. My students will have the ability to have space and comfort while reading and enjoying books of their choice and reading level. Students will be encouraged and excited to read independently and increase their reading levels. Students will have the ability to have literature circles and be active participants during reading.
These donations will improve my classroom environment and get students excited about reading.
The environment alone will be pleasing and inviting to my students. It will make them appreciative of others' contributions to their learning and increase their desire to better themselves.
