My Project

School closure found most students removed from typical social situations. Returning to school left many struggling to interact with others during unstructured time and collaborative class time.

This project will allow us to expand the library zone we've created to help students rebuild social connections and skills lost during school closures.

Having interactive zones in the library has allowed students who don't have a common point with other kids during free time (sports, or a strong social group) to come socialize in a lightly structured environment, over a puzzle, Lego activity, art station, etc. Students also use this area to complete group work. The flexible, comfy seating builds enthusiasm over something that causes some individuals stress. This zone is a hit, and we can't wait to see it grow!
