My wonderful sixth, seventh and eighth graders! What can I say about them? Simply put, they are amazing, intelligent, energetic, outgoing and curious human beings who every day, bring a smile to my face.
They live in a low-income high poverty area and they are eager to read, write, and learn!
They attend a school funded through Title I, and many of my students are English Learners. As technology continues to take over a big part of their daily lives, I want to make sure that students are able to create work that they can show-off to parents, staff, and students. I also want to be able to provide a safe, warm, welcoming environment conducive to learning.
My students need two grey accent chairs for our awesome classroom library. I want to create an inviting library lounge that will motivate students to pick up a book and read. I have many of the books students like to read but I don't have a place where students can simply sit and read a book of their choosing. The two accent chairs will provide a safe, welcoming place to read books. Currently, students sit at their desk when they read a book and have no other seating options. The two chairs will provide a cool comfortable place for students to read a book as well as provide flexible seating options.
