This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school focuses on leadership development (based on the seven habits for highly effective people) for our students. As such, we encourage students to practice leadership skills that will benefit them in their future. One of the practices we have at our school is looking for opportunities to serve our school community in various ways.

Our school serves 500+ students representing at least 10 language groups and cultures.

We strive to meet the literacy needs of our diverse population of learners.

My Project

Currently our book sets in the library are stored in plastic bags which tear easily and hard to shelf and locate. By organizing the book set into magazine boxes, our students will be able to access book sets for book clubs because our resources will be organized and cataloged.

As students enter the library they will be able to quickly locate and find the book set of their choice to read with their friends.

Book clubs are an excellent way to get students discussing literature and develop their personal preferences for a genre. These magazine boxes will allow for easy access to the book sets and independence when choosing book club books.
