Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in the media center. I am between the library and the computer lab all day supporting students and staff. At any given time there may be a number of projects going on, each with unique needs.
Our students our 100% ESL.
They are not only taking high school curriculum they are also learning the English language. They strive to do their best and are eager to learn the language. They are motivated students eager to learn the English language and master the curriculum.
My Project
Our library media center is the focal point of the school. Students come here to study, get help from a tutor, look for a book, research or just find a place to center. It is imperative this space be a supportive environment for our students as they are 100% English Language Learners.
Clear, easy to read signage spaced through out the library will help facilitate an environment where students feel they are welcome and know where to go to find the help they need.
Also, since we are short of book ends, these will give the library a neater appearance with book standing straight. The bookcase will serve as a great showcase for book displays and will be mobile as it is on wheels. Wall mount signage and desktop signage will help guide students and staff in the library.
