Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember what it was like the first time you read a book that you couldn't put down? My students have not yet discovered books that capture their imaginations, but they have also not yet read some of my personal favorites!
My students are ones who can tell when you're passionate about something.
They are so vibrant and hungry to learn that when I share a personal favorite book of mine, they seem to practically read and reread that book until it is broken to smithereens. They love reading fascinating stories and especially love fantasy books, as do I!
My Project
There's nothing better than seeing an adult read a childhood or even current favorite book of theirs and then seeing a child devour that book until it is memorized by heart! These are some of my favorite books and I know my students will love them as much as I do.
These books ultimately bring joy into our classroom and bring joy in reading!
What can be better than that! By making students fall in love with the books they read, they will want to read more and become even more skillful and knowledgeable students.
