My Students

My students are excited about learning! They love new opportunities and the chance to experience new things. They are very respectful students who come to school every day excited about what they will learn. They learn best when incorporating manipulative for hands on learning experiences.

My school is in a low income area, where over 70% of students receive free or reduced price lunch.

Many students do not have access to computers at home. I love presenting them with opportunities to use technology and learn new things because they truly enjoy every minute of it. Their smiles and motivation to be the best they can be is my inspiration and my reason for teaching.

My Project

Students love to read books and they enjoy reading books where the characters reflect themselves. I want to have a diverse selection of books where students can find characters they can relate to, but also give them opportunities to learn about others. Having access to this selection of books will allow students to make connections to characters and events and will deepen the conversations they have. Many of these books have historical information that will help students to better understand what has happened in our country. It will allow them to see the changes that have been made and make those deep connections to their own life. Offering a diverse selection of books is extremely important.
