This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are in a Title I setting. They have many of the same challenges as students around the country but also have to deal with outside issues that I know I didn't even know about when I was their age.
They need access to tools to broaden their horizons and expand their knowledge of the world beyond their neighborhoods.
There is a lot of potential in my students, but they need to see what the rest of the world has to offer so they can reach for it.
My Project
I want to give my students centers to do during their library time. A GIGANTIC bundle of ALL the library centers created by Mrs. J in the Library, including both printable & digital library centers. Plus, FREE updates for life!
I love to incorporate as much as I can that brings in skills not being taught in the classroom.
These centers will help my students prepare for their futures.Having students be able to work independently to learn is a great advantage. I have seen similar centers in place in model Media Centers and I want to incorporate more for my students. We are requesting a bundle of 23 library center activities. The centers include a "Question of the Week" to help with research skills, and book reviews, and several different coding and makerspace activities.
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Mrs. Clontz and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
