After Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast, students in the affected areas moved to a variety of areas in and around Louisiana. Our school, French Settlement High School, took in a number of those students and have made them a part of our community and family. In order to help them deal with the hurricane and its aftermath I would like to request a number of books that address such issues as anxiety and healing. I also want to give them books that keep them focused on their futures, such as books about career paths. Finally, some of the books that I am requesting will cover the issue of natural disasters so that the students can understand what happened to them, their families, and their homes in a scientific manner.
