I can never get enough books, and neither can my students. They love to read, and I need more books to keep them busy.
We are an academically rigorous K-9 public charter school.
We are Title I with over 40% of our students on free and/or reduced lunches. Our school regularly tests in the top 5% of all Utah schools annually. We have hard working motivated students who want to achieve.
My Project
I am asking for leveled readers for first and second grade students. The I Can Read series is a series designed specifically for young readers. As their website states; "Take children step-by-step into the wonderful world of reading on their own with I Can Read! Widely recognized as the premier line of beginning readers, I Can Read! books are organized into color-coded levels. With more than 200 titles featuring award-winning authors and illustrators, and the most beloved character friends in the history of children's literature, you can find books at every stage to engage and excite your child. "
Reading is one of the most important skills we can teach our students today.
As far as skills go it has one of the largest overall impacts on future success. A love for reading should begin as early as possible.
