Help me give my students books to read that are on their level. Having no curriculum it is difficult to meet their needs with appropriate reading materials and this will help.
What makes my students special? That is an easy question. My students come from a city that has a lot of poverty and needs. These kids come to school every day ready to learn. They face adversity because they aren’t like the “typical” student. They just want a safe place where they can learn and be kids. They are funny and kind and understanding and most of all, loving. They know that they are in a place where people care. I love that their minds are open to trying new things and working on new things.
My Project
I am a special education teacher in a room with no set curriculum. These books will help provide my students with appropriate leveled books right at their fingertips. It is difficult to find readers that they are able to read but also that they are interested in reading. These books would be a huge help in the classroom. I will be able to utilize these books daily in small groups or one to one teaching. My students struggle daily and good books are difficult to find at their levels. Anything will help. We appreciate anything that is given. Thank you.
