Think back to when you were in elementary school and that exciting feeling you would get reading a new book. My students share that exact same excitement that you did when you were in school. They are eager to read as many books as they can. I am a first year teacher at a Title I school. Many of my students do not have access to books at home and rely on me to provide them with books full of knowledge. I want to build my students a library that they dream about.
My students are compassionate, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.
Books are one of the most essential parts to a classroom. So much knowledge can be gained from reading books. The love for books begins when a student finds that one book they can relate to. I want each one of my students to experience finding a book that they fall in love with.
The first thing I always notice in a teacher's classroom is his or her literacy center. I want my students to walk into my classroom and immediately gravitate over to the literacy center where they are sure to find a book they will love.
Every student deserves to have a good book in their life.
Having a library full of books will help promote student learning within the classroom even more. Every student regardless of reading level will be able to find a book in this library that they fall in love with. Help me make my first classroom library come to life!
