Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students have a lot of daily struggles. OUr community and homes are in a high poverty area. However, when they come to school they are all ready to learn! They amaze me every day. My students do not come to school with a lot of materials necessary for learning!

I hope to receive support from DonorsChoose to help my students flourish in their environment and learning.

By getting the necessary supplies to help enhance our learning the students will be able to spend less time looking for and gathering materials and more time on using them! This will also enhance their independence!

My Project

With the leveled library cart, students will be able to easily find books based on their level and interest. This will save time in our school day looking for books and help students focus on their learning and giving them more time to read more books throughout the school year!

This cart will also teach the students great organizational skills, too!

They will learn to take care of our classroom and make sure it is easy for each student to find the resources they need on the cart. By keeping books grouped by interest, it will also allow those students to read about the books that interest them and grow their love of reading!
