My Students

My students love to read! Quite often they ask for more time for "read to self" station. They enjoy the quiet relaxing time curling up with a good book.

We have quite a few different reading levels in our classroom, but my students are quick to help each other when someone is struggling.

They enjoy acting like the teacher when it comes time to partner read.

My Project

My goal for this project is to provide a variety of books for my students to practice their fluency and comprehension skills such as "Too Cols" and "Spiders." In order to do this I will create more than one project like this one. These new books contain sequenced, high-quality leveled texts in a variety of genres. Students will encounter traditional tales, realistic fiction, fantasy, and informational text. We will practice reading these new books in class. Students will take home the book to read to family members as well. They will be able to show their families their progress.

My students will excel in their reading fluency and comprehension when they have books at their individual reading level.

They will build their confidence through reading these leveled books independently or with a partner. New books are a great way to encourage more independent reading!
