Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my first-grade class are a diverse group of very sweet and enthusiastic learners. Our school is a Title I school in San Jose, in which 80% of students receive free or reduced-price lunches. Most of our students are English Learners who come from households that are primarily Spanish or Vietnamese speaking.

While they have a wide range of unique needs, they share a love for learning.

Every day they inspire me to foster an exciting and challenging classroom culture and to provide them with the tools and support they need to be successful.

My Project

My students have many different needs for successful learning. I am requesting several different types of materials for my classroom.

For keeping my students healthy and giving them multiple forms of learning, I'm requesting materials for health and safety, art, and literacy.

To help a range of readers, I am requesting leveled books for my students. In addition, we need masks and hand sanitizer to maintain a clean and germ-free environment. To foster their artistic skills and provide them with an outlet for creativity, I am asking for watercolor paper, velvet art coloring sheets, googly eyes, and glue.
