Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our 2nd grade is full of 25 fun loving kids who are full of energy. The students are an amazing group of kiddos from the Chicagoland area. They are excited about school and learning. They are a mix of 7 and 8 year olds who are loving their adventure in school.
Our students are eager and excited to learn and try new things on a daily basis.
They are on their way to becoming life-long lovers of learning. They attend a Chicago public school. We are one of the many low-income schools where a majority of our students receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch.
My Project
This year we have varying levels of readers in my classroom and not enough books at different levels. To help reach all of them I am asking for various levels of books.
Adding these books will give us a wider variety of books, and ensure all of the students will be able to have books on their level.
My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! Students will be able to choose books that will continue to help them enjoy independent reading time.
