My students need more flexible seating options such as bean bag style chairs and floor cushions, as well as a Google home device and microphone to enhance our classroom environment.
My students are an amazing group of 6th graders! They come to school everyday filled with excitement and with a sincere passion to learn. I want to do everything I can to provide them with a classroom environment that will support their diverse needs through flexible seating and other supplies that will engage and enhance their excitement and passion. I am excited about the opportunity to empower my students with choice about where and how they learn in the classroom.
My Project
My project is called Level Up the Classroom because that is exactly what I want to do. I want to support the 21st Century Learning Skills that my students are learning everyday at school. Some of the ways that these skills can be practiced is through the use of technology and flexible seating. Students will have the opportunity to choose where they sit in the room and if they prefer to stand or sit on the floor I want them to have the supplies needed to be as comfortable as possible so they can focus on their learning and work.
For this project I am requesting multiple options for students to sit on the floor more comfortably.
I have requested 2 bean bag style chairs and some floor cushions to meet this need. As far as leveling up the technology I will be ordering a Google Home device. As you may know our school uses Google Apps for Education all day and we will be able to utilize the Google Home's Skills on a daily basis to support this. Finally, I am requesting a microphone. This will help the students when filming multimedia presentations so that their voices can be heard much more clearly, leading to a higher quality project.
