My students are kind, highly motivated, and very excited about learning. I have a very diverse classroom. A high portion of my room speak English as their second language and half of my students read below grade level. They would benefit from a set leveled readers to help increase their success in our established distance remote learning platform.
On March 13th, my students began learning at home.
Our school closed due to the COVID-19 virus for the rest of the school year. We are still doing Distance Learning, but this presents a challenge, as most of my students do not have access to books at their reading level in their homes.
My Project
Please help me give my students leveled book sets and help with distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Students are not able to leave their homes due to the quarantine in Georgia.
In a lot of homes, they do not have appropriate reading materials that match their reading level, especially my below level students. These Scholastic Reading kits will provide appropriate leveled books for my students to read at home. This will help them build their literacy skills. These book sets will increase their vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension skills.
