My students are...MY HEART. We are an elementary Title I school in Auburn, Alabama.
We are a class full of personalities coming from all different backgrounds.
We are a smart and well rounded kindergarten class. We love hard and have a zeal for learning. We strive to do our best and encourage each other every day. We are full of fun, energy, hands on learning, and curiosity. We are a family and together we teach each other something new everyday.
Students will use the iPads for reading, math, science, and social studies. Students will be able to create and explore all types of activities! Our school has several online educational subscriptions that students can use. One subscription we are really excited about is Nearpod. Nearpod allows students to engage in interactive activities and discussions. Students are also able to take virtual reality experiences like seeing the Statue of Liberty in a 360 degree view. This is a great opportunity for kids to have real life examples experiences. Click on the link to find out more information about it https://nearpod.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/206293815-What-is-Nearpod-. Currently we only have 5 iPads in our classroom. If we had 5 more this would allow me to teach 10 kids at a time using different applications with technology.
"If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow (John Dewey)." As you know our world is changing and this generation is technologically driven.
I want to teach my students at a young age how to effectively use technology to enhance their knowledge. I want them to be exposed and feel comfortable using different applications so that they are prepared for their future.
