My students are a wonderful group of brand-new Kinders. They are all eager to read...learning more and more each day. We are working hard to learn about reading, showing our reading readiness, and building our reading stamina. We are excited to add some new books to our classroom library!
Kindergarten has been a passion of mine since I started teaching 17 years ago.
I love to be able to be the first experience of school for my students. I expect, from day one, great things from my students. I want to instill a love of learning, so that I can help mold 21st century learners. Kindergarten is the starting point of school for many children...and I want it to be a year they will never forget!

A literature rich environment is vital to the success of students. With good literature, comes good readers. I want to be able to provide my students with quality literature on their level...so that they can grow into lifelong learners, who cherish and love to read.
Good literature is vital to reading success.
However, having good literature on the children's reading level is even more important. It is important that they see themselves as readers, that they take ownership of reading, and that they see themselves as successful from the start. These books from Lakeshore Learning will allow the students to be able to select a text on their level from the start of school and to show what they are learning and how they progress through the reading levels.
