"What I love most about my classroom is who I share it with." This year, I have 18 students in my class. Many of our students receive free or reduced meals, and come from low-income homes. A high percentage speak English as a second language. I have students who receive additional support for speech, language, special education, occupational therapy, and social skills.
Understanding what they may need, and what someone else may need can be very different, makes this year's class so special!
I want to provide ALL students the tools they need to be successful.
My Project
Kindergarten is a year of tremendous academic growth! We start our year learning letter names, letter sounds, and how to write letters. Then, we work on blending sounds to read words. Don't forget we learn sight words, too!!
Academics in Kindergarten can be FUN!!
I believe in multi-sensory, hands-on activities when teaching skills to my students. I want them to be active, to explore materials, and to be social while learning in our classroom.
The materials I am hoping to bring into our classroom will make learning fun!! Learn The Alphabet Dough Mats will allow students to use playdough to build letters. Write The Letter boards will elimate paper and pencil when practicing letter writing. The Classroom Magnetic Letters Kit and Word Building Blocks will let students use letters to manipulate the beginning/middle/ending sounds of words and build sight words.
