My students need alphabetical materials they can manipulate in many areas of the classroom. I feel since my students are bilingual having a set of award winning titles as read aloud would be the most beneficial.
I am the proud teacher of 16 four year olds that make coming to work each day a joy! A majority of my students and their families are bilingual and considered at risk. Our program is able to offer support not only for the child in school but for the the whole family as we feel education is the key to success.
Each day my students enter our classroom with beaming smiles as they are excited to see what the new day will hold.
It is my pleasure to be their guide as this is often their first school experience. I think a child's first school experience can set them up for future success in their education journey.
My Project
Since most of my students are bilingual, English is a foreign language to them so I feel these alphabetical materials will help support their efforts in learning a second language. I feel by placing alphabetical materials through out the classroom such as stamps in the art area and books to read or listen to will maximize a students exposure.
The more you see it, hear it, and touch it the more you will remember it!
I feel a student can take materials and use them in ways I could never think of so why not make sure they have an abundance of them.
