My Students

My job is a passion and as I often say, "Kindergarten is my jam." These 5 and 6 year old kids are bright-eyed, excited, eager to learn, and I am privileged to help them grow. They are a uniquely caring and encouraging bunch that love to let loose and be goofy.

Our days are filled with a lot of meaning and rigor, but also a lot of warmth, laughter, and silliness.

We have a classroom community where everyone is valued and welcomed. Our population is diverse as we have students from all over the world! I love to hear their family traditions and what makes them so special and unique.

My Project

Teaching Kindergarteners to read is what we do! It's the crux of every Kindergarten classroom. Letters. words and sentences fill our classroom and kids need varied experiences to become life-long readers!

It can be difficult to give children consistent, hands-on, Word Work and Phonics practice without enough materials!

Your donation of 4 boxes of letters will help each table group have access to letters to sort and build words! These sets of letterboxes are ready to use and will help children apply what we are learning in meaningful ways! After I teach a whole group lesson, children will be able to apply the skill in small groups or with a partner to really cement their learning!
