Help me give my students the literacy centers that they need to become great readers. Many come to 2nd grade without knowing their basic letter and vowel sounds. This would be a tremendous help.
I teach 2nd graders and I love it! My students are great workers with great imaginations. I work at a Title I school with 85% of the students qualifying for free lunch and most come from broken homes. They see the classroom as a safe place and I love making it our own.
Many of my students have a difficult time with letter and vowel sounds.
I want them to learn and have fun learning. They are funny with large personalities. Thier achievement will boost thier confidence to have a very successful year.
My Project
Many students come to 2nd grade without knowing their letter or vowel sounds. This makes it very frustrating for the students to learn how to read and write. My goal is to make sure all my students have the basic and beyond what they need be successful readers.
These centers will be a blessing in preparing the students to succeed.
The center will help students achieve their goals in reading and writing. I will be setting up centers for the students while I work with small groups. This gives the students rigorous work to help challenge their higher order thinking skills. This will also help them to learn how to work collaboratively with each other.
