This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first grade students are very eager learners. They get excited about each new concept that is presented in our class. They are working hard to build a strong foundation of reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

Most of my students are from lower-income families who don't always have the resources to provide access to technology for their children.

Having access to software that engages struggling readers and motivates them to continue the hard work of becoming good readers will make a big difference in my students' lives.

My Project

Having access to the Letters Alive Plus materials will give my young, struggling readers additional, exciting ways to learn the names and sounds of letters, practice blending letter sounds to begin reading words, and the ability to put words together into sentences.

Letters Alive Plus will use my students' fascination with technology to draw them into focusing on learning and practicing their foundational reading skills.

By donating to this project and providing an exciting electronic avenue to practice early literacy skills, you will enable my struggling readers find the motivation they need to overcome the frustration they feel about learning to read.
