My students need support in literacy and writing skills. My students will be able to utilize the mini magic boards to practice writing skills as whole group and the other items to reinforce literacy skills.

My Students

I teach the most amazing braided PreK classroom. My population consists of 3, 4, and 5 year olds. Some of my students are typical 3 or 4 year olds(VPK), some are ESE students and have a delay or impairment of some sort, and some are Headstart students meaning they are from a family that is living at or below the poverty level. I teach at a Title 1 Elementary school where all of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. The blend of ages and abilities in my classroom is beautiful!

My Project

At my Title 1 Elementary school, my PreK students come from low-socioeconomic neighborhoods and homes where there is a trend in children coming to into preschool not being able to identify or write a single letter of the alphabet. These items will help support the literacy and writing needs of my students.

The set of Magic magnetic writing boards will be used during large groups to practice writing our letters of the week while the floating letters will bring life to my water sensory table.

The shape finder utilizes not only a child's fine motor skills but tests their literacy skills through play.
