Help me give my students the materials to grow in their writing. Our school-wide improvement plan is to get our students writing. They need journals, chart tablets, chart stand, lapboards, pencil sharpener, markers, etc.
My second grade students love to learn, are creative, and love writing. I want them to be excited.
Engagement is important for my students because they have obstacles beyond their control that effect their learning.
We live in a rural community in Idaho, where many of the students receive free and reduce lunch or meet the federal poverty level.
I want them to succeed and be proud of what they can accomplish this year. We are heading in the right direction but we need some help to get there.
My Project
Writing is an essential skill in second grade. We need to be able to write in a variety of ways. This project will help my second graders meet or exceed the school-wide writing goal.
The writing journals will give the students an important place to keep their ideas and practice writing.
They will be able to write independently and as a whole group with the lined whiteboards, pencil sharpener, and thin-tipped dry erase markers.
The anchor chart holder will give us a place to keep our writing organized and the ability to for both small and whole group learning.
