Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
From the first bell to the last bell students in 4-M are constantly working. They love to work together, get comfortable in their own spot, and learn new information. Whether working in a group or just reading to themselves they love to pick a spot in the room, stretch out and dive into their work.
As a low-income area, most of my students do not have a lot of resources to better their education, which then the teacher provides.
With the new common core curriculum students are being pushed to work harder than ever! Trying to provide additional resources to help them succeed has become a consistent challenge as the common core has changed the focus of the learner. They are eager to learn and love to read. I want to create a comfortable reading spot in the classroom and more flexible seating options.
My Project
The wobble stools will help the students find reading both informational and fun. Students will have more spots to be comfortable and engaged than just their chair. They will provide an incentive for students to use at their desk rather than their chair. In 4th grade students spend the majority of their day in a chair, I want to be able to provide a flexible seating option for students to be able to concentrate more on the task they are given.
Donations to my classroom will help the students tremendously.
With a more comfortable spot to sit, relax, get their sillies out, and work, students scores and levels will increase.
