Imagine walking into your classroom knowing that you are about to greet 17 smiling faces that are eager to learn something new. 17 students that are so high energy that they literally can not sit still. They are full of energy and excitement and I enjoy teaching each and every one of them.
I teach in a Title One school in Maine.
More than half of the students in the school receive free lunch. Despite not being able to sit still my students are ready to learn every day when they come to school.
My Project
My class is so active that we struggle to stay in their personal spaces and focused on their lessons. Wobble seats and cushions would help the more active students in my class stay in their seats. These would also help them stay focused.
We would love to have 5 wobble cushions, 3 wobble seats and 7 balance ball chairs.
These new seating options will allow them to get there “wiggles” out while at their seats and ultimately help them focus on their learning. This will also help other students in the class that get distracted by the other students that moving about the room.
