For years the students at my school have used dry erase boards to facilitate learning in all subjects. Unfortunately, due to funding cuts, my school simply cannot afford enough dry erase markers to last students the entire year.
My students are dedicated learners, but unfortunately, many come from low socio-economic environments.
This means that many of my students' families cannot afford school supplies. Our school gives them what we can, and our students & their families always make it so clear to us just how much they appreciate it.
My Project
Due to budget cuts, my school can only afford to supply students with one dry erase pen this school year. This is worrisome, because we have found in the past that these pens usually only last about half the school year. We use our white boards so often that they pens inevitably run out of ink! By obtaining a new set of dry erase pens, we will be able to enter the second half of the school year being able to learn our multiplication, practice new writing techniques, and try out new thinking skills in reading.
It is said that everyone makes mistakes; that's why pencils have erasers.
That is one of the best aspects of students using white boards with dry erase markers: they can be brave & try something new, and if they make a mistake, they are able to easily erase it and try again. Please help give them the opportunity to do this all school year long.
