Let's Unplug With Stem Books and Activities - Part 3

My Project

Occasionally, the Internet is down. Sometimes, a middle school student forgets their device for computer science class. It is not uncommon for student Chromebooks to run out of battery power, with no charger in sight! Periodically, the students need a screen break. Whatever the reason(s), we must be prepared to provide alternative educational activities that support our curricular initiatives.

Equipped with a supply of unplugged books and activities that support STEM projects, critical thinking, and problem solving skills, we carry on.

National Geographic's CodeThis! and Make This! books provide students with the opportunity to write algorithms to find hidden treasures, decode ciphers to read secret messages, create loops to program an expedition, and more. My students love the Disruptus design thinking game, this will add one more to our class set. The cases will provide organization for the supplies. The materials in this project will offer hours of engagement, unplugged learning, and fun for our students.
