Camera, Lights, Action, Go! We perform at our school and out and about in our community throughout the year. Be it at a tree lighting, for Mother's Day, or at a retirement home, my students love to shine!
My 4th and 5th graders love to be the stars and perform for their friends and family, but we haven't been able to do a musical in a few years!
I have so many talented students who can sing, dance, and act. It truly is amazing and I love to watch them grow in their confidence, conquer their fears, try something new, surprise themselves and their families, and fall in love with performing in a musical.
My Project
My 4th graders did a fantastic job in their last performance this spring, singing songs, playing recorders, performing on Orff instruments, and strumming on their ukuleles. But they have never had the opportunity to perform in a musical. I would love to change that!
This project will give my future 5th graders a chance to perform in a musical called "Dear Santa".
How much fun would it be to tweet and skype Santa at Christmas time, learning all about what it means to work as a team in order to present a successful musical!
My choir would be able to perform some new songs this coming school year when we show our community how important music education is. And maybe this will be the year to start a recorder ensemble!!
