Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the pleasure of working with 5th Grade students that are eager to learn and play. What I love about this age group is their energy and willingness to learn as they really are becoming their own people with unique thoughts and ideas.

My students have taught me more than I will ever teach them.

Most of all, I have learned patience and flexibility. I have also learned that these amazing young people are not just tiny adults and they have different needs to learn and grow.

My Project

My energetic and social bunch love to learn through play. Their need for basic math and vocabulary practice led me to look for something that could help them build these skills. Quizmo math games will build proficiency in Multiplication, Place Value and Elapsed Time while providing practice in Fractions, Decimals, and Geometry. I even found a Quizmo game to help students learn the important skill of counting money back!

Quizmo allows for multiple difficulty levels and the involvement of many players, so this will help me reach every student.

My ELL students will benefit from the variety of support provided by these games, especially with the vocabulary enrichment.
