Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach Spanish 2 at MHS in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have a diverse cohort of students in my classes: they are very active and enjoy learning through technology, like completing assignments on computers, listening to, or watching course materials on their devices. I would say they are visual learners who are very curious and enthusiastic about learning about other cultures.

My Project

Spanish posters and other materials requested will be used in the classroom for conversations and the vocabulary students learn can extend to everyday conversation outside the classroom.

Flashcards with Spanish phrases and words for instance can help each one of them learn a phrase or word during each class session; they can be used as a "do now" activity to warm them up.

My students enjoy interacting with one another and are visual learners, having Spanish vocabulary with nice designs around the classroom can motivate them to adapt their conversation.
