Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

"ADHD, emotionally disturbed, gifted, on grade level"...These are just a few of the many labels our students were given upon entering kindergarten. I am lucky enough to co-teach 24 diverse students in the city of Buffalo. These kiddos put their game face on every day despite many obstacles they face outside the classroom walls.

Every child deserves to feel successful in the classroom regardless of ability.

Its my passion to help guide these little life-long learners to reach their fullest potential.

My Project

Every classroom needs a plethora of picture books not only to teach a lesson or extend student's knowledge, but to GET LOST READING!

Scholastic is an incredible company that supports teachers through educational activities, lessons, parent articles, and of course, the Scholastic book order program!

As a child, I couldn't wait to get lost in my scholastic book order form and pick out all the book for my parents to hopefully order. My goal is to give my students an incredible classroom library filled with picture books that takes their imagination to new levels. With the Scholastic picture book bundle, "Best of Grades k-1 Picture Books Pack" and "Kindness Pack Grades K-2", I will be able to give to my kiddos what my teachers gave to me-a life-long love of reading!
