I teach at a middle school that is comprised of grades 5-8 within the heart of the Smokies of East TN. We currently have 300 students within our school, which provides a strong sense of community. We are also a high poverty area with over 67% of our students receiving free or reduced lunch.
Our students come through these doors with a smile on their faces and the hearts and eagerness to learn each and every day.
We are a community-driven school, but being within a rural, Title I district means that at times, there are not enough funds and resources to go around for all those in need. Because of this, it is difficult at times to receive funding for items that are needed for our students.
They deserve the very best of everything, no matter how great or small the needs are at the time. That is why we are ever so grateful for this foundation and the donors who support us.
My Project
Because there is no "one size fits all" approach to education, learning platforms such as Study.com are effective and proven ways to keep students engaged. Study.com offers over 83,000 videos and lessons for educators such as myself to enhance and further supplement my curriculum. With being uncertain of what lies in the months ahead, having these digital resources will be invaluable to my students' education.

I will have the ability to customize and differentiate lessons, assignments, quizzes, and more for my students with custom courses, scheduling tools, and other resources, all while monitoring their progress from a user-friendly dashboard. This subscription will be beneficial to my students while we are in school or remote, therefore it will be utilized throughout the entire year.
