My Students

My students are on the spectrum and have various learning disabilities. They are eager to learn! They all love coming to school each and everyday. They enjoy learning and love it when I incorporate technology into the lessons. The technology helps them stay focused and be more attentive towards lessons and in class projects and activities. Unfortunately most of my students do not have internet access at home. Our classroom is the only place they are able to use the internet. However, currently we only have one laptop and it makes it very difficult for all students to have time on it, and for myself to help other students who require full assistance using the laptop. One laptop is difficult to share among 6 students...

My Project

Having the MacBook Air will help me connect my lessons to our classroom promethean board. The use of technology helps my students stay motivated. My students stay engaged in lessons when technology is incorporated. They like to interact with the board during lessons. The students always get super excited when they see the use of technology throughout the lessons. MacBook Air will assist the students in doing research based projects and give them the opportunity to type up their writing projects. It will allow them in staying focused with increased attention span and encourage them to work in min groups with a partner to help improve their social interaction and communication skills.
