Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are high spirited and resilient! I look forward to seeing each day for the possibility of what adventure is in store! They are eager to learn, and when they understand or accomplish an assignment or project they light up with excitement.
I love their spirit!
Their desire to be seen, heard, and recognized. Our students come from varied and difficult backgrounds and socioeconomic tiers, at times it can seem overwhelming for them. My classroom is not only a place of learning for them, but somewhere they know they can come to feel welcome and challenged.
My Project
Our classroom does not have air conditioning. In the hot fall and spring months, we die of heat. Having the portable AC unit would make focusing on learning an easier proposition.
We will benefit from having heat lamps to experience a hands-on science project, and having enough for small groups to work would be ideal!
The stapler is for stapling together large packets of papers, for example a script from a classic novel for the kids to run through. Finally the classroom set of paints will be ideal for painting atoms and molecules when we study and make them in science.
