This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am happily assigned with the growth and teaching of fourth grade students this year! Many of them were my munchkins in first grade and they remain an energetic bunch and are eager to learn. These students are hard workers as well! Seeing them mature from first grade to now 4th grade has been a joy! They truly enjoy learning and using technology.
The students in my new classroom are a creative bunch.
They have been known to help each other solve problems and appear to be a real classroom community. It is always my hope that I spark their imaginations, continue to strengthen their community, and support their growing wonder with inquiry activities!
Our school is made up of students who work hard and try to maintain a growth mindset. They have proven to be eager to learn and remain committed to that learning even with the limited resources and low income status. My goal is always to assist my students in their continuous efforts towards becoming the best students they can be.
My Project
Considering that we are beginning our school year so much differently than normal, via remote learning, it is important that my students have the basic supplies to support their learning at home!. These individual supplies will ensure everyone starts with what is needed to become successful as we navigate this school year.
"Remote learning provides an opportunity for students and teachers to remain connected and engaged with the content while working from their homes." This quote from techlearning.com helps to explain the need for the basic materials for all students.
Students will be better able to show their thinking and problem solving while completing assignments that don't always require technology. Though many of us will work using technology, having tactile materials like paper and pencils support student thinking and learning while adjusting to and living through this difficult time.
