My students are unique! They come from all walks of life and get intermingled in one small room. They face challenges both in and outside the classroom, at home and at school. As a low income district, we try to differentiate and make learning more fun for the students to keep them involved.
The students bring something new to the table each day when they set their little feet within my classroom.
We are a neighborhood school, so that means most students walk to school and spend most of their day here until their parents get home from work!
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students lives because they are small, fundamental materials that my classroom is in need of.
My students need the ability to have flexible seating to create imaginative writings.
With clipboards, my students will be able to move around the classroom and work in an environment and space that is comfortable for their needs. Right now my students work on the floor and you can see that they are in need of a sturdy base to write on.
These amazing first graders need dry erase lap boards. This will help them to come to circle time and be able to work while the teacher is talking about new subjects.
Two other important necessities are markers and glue. My students need too be able to express themselves through different mediums. They need to be able to create pictures and artwork to go along with their fabulous writinfs!
My first graders deserve to have an equal chance to get to thrive and succeed!
