My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district my students have a lot of needs both in and out of school. I am looking to help my students out.

My students are smart, kind, enthusiastic, hard workers that love to be challenged and learning new things.

Many of my students come from single parent homes or have other family members raising them. With this kind of living arrangements several of my students receive free or reduced lunch. Several of my students live in homes where they do not have electronics, therefore they do not get much practice on a computer or keyboard to practice typing.

My Project

My students need headphones that work when plugged into the computer so when the do their online math and testing they can hear what is being said. Most of the headphones do not work so my students are not able to pass their math assignments. When they finally find headphones that work they are able to get passing grades on their math and other assignments.

I know that having headphones that work will help my students perform better in the math program we use.

Doing better in math will encourage them to do better in other subjects which leads to a better education.
