Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a very low socio-economic environment in which most of them receive free lunch in our district. These children come from all types of backgrounds and many are children that have migrated to the United States. Many of my students have very limited schooling in their own language and are now thrust into a formal school setting. We move from learning letters to reading very quickly. We help students learn English while holding on and becoming literate in their own language as well.
My students have come from all around the world, from many different and often difficult situations.
They hold the American Dream, but need the tools to make them successful.
My Project
Children will use the stabilizer for our cameras to shoot video, act, and then edit. This will show them the beginning stages of production and how to assemble video. Our district is a very poor district that many parents can't afford to capture memories. Our children will be able to capture memories and then create videos for their homes to keep forever. We need a stabilizer to ensure that video is crystal clear for this to be successful.
Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.” We intend to capture those special moments in school and bring joy and warmth to those who need it most.
We have so many adorable events at school where our little students show their happiness and thirst for knowledge. For a moment they can forget about the struggle their families are going through and enjoy life to the fullest. These are the moments we believe are worth more than any dollar amount. We will take photographs and videos of school concerts, assemblies, and other school sponsored activities. We will share those moments with parents via social media and our school website.
It is not just a photo, it's a cover page for the first chapter of their wonderful life.
The equipment we are requesting will also be used to help our PTO fundraisers. We want to provide the parents with holiday photos that they can keep and cherish for many years. Taking holiday pictures has been a great business model in the world of photography. With the cameras and lenses, we can help our PTO provide the same experience by having the kids take pictures with the Easter Bunny or Frosty the Snowman. This would be great resource for our school to help fund more fun and exciting activities.
